Jerald Bates, DDS
Dr. Jerald Bates (Jerry) opened his practice in Woodinville with the vision of treating the entire family's dental needs. After graduation from the University of Washington School of Dentistry, he served as a dentist in the Navy for 2 years. Then, he and his wife Carol, returned to Woodinville, a community where they wanted to raise their family. Dr. Bates has become a symbol of quality dentistry in the Woodinville community having served family dental needs for many years.
Dentistry continues to change with our changing times, and Dr. Bates is tenacious about seeking out the best available products and techniques for his patients. He pursues continuing education, participating in local study clubs with other leading dentists, and seeks out seminars and workshops to stay current on the latest technology and techniques available in dentistry. Dr. Bates is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Washington State Dental Association, and the Seattle King County Dental Society.
If you have met Dr. Bates, you know he is a dentist who cares about the whole person, not only their dental needs. This concern for people carries through to his dental team, his family, his coaching, and everywhere he comes in contact with people. Perhaps this is the reason his dental team continues to vote Jerry "Best Boss"!
Dr. Bates enjoys family - most especially his nine grand children. He is an avid sports fan, including watching his grand children's games, the Mariners and the Seahawks.
Arlene Lieurance - Office Manager
Arlene says she has had a very rewarding career working for Dr. Bates. She started as his dental assistant in l972 and later moved to the front office. She has continued her dental education to keep updated in the latest techniques and products to provide quality dentistry to our patients we value very much. She keeps her assisting skills well tuned, in addition to being the Office Manager.
Arlene enjoys the longevity of the dental team here at Dr. Bates, as it makes our office a professional, familiar and enjoyable place to be, either as a dental team member or client.
Arlene is a Washington native and has lived in Bothell for 28 years. She has been married to her husband Steve for 35 years. They have one son who lives in the area. She enjoys gardening for recreation and relaxation.
Kathryn Zoller - Accounts Manager
Kathryn's effervescence and enthusiasm are contagious! She joined our team in October 2009. She has excellent client service skills along with 13 years experience in accounting and insurance billing in the medical field. She has been a resident of the Woodinville area since 1984. She keeps up with a family including three daughters and two dogs.
You can't miss Kathryn's energy, but something you wouldn't know about Kathryn is she loves snow...snow mobiles, snow balls, snow skiing, snow angels, just "let it snow"!
Kathy McKanna - Dental Hygienist
Kathy grew up in Texas, found her way to Washington State in the early '70's to attend the University of Washington and has never looked back. She majored in dental hygiene and because her goal was to teach, she got a Master's degree in higher education. She was an associate professor at the UW, teaching part-time in the dental hygiene department for six years.
Kathy found her way to this office in the fall of 1990 working temporarily while the hygienist was on maternity leave. Guess you can say the rest is history. She has found a happy home here in Woodinville working with Dr. Bates and our phenomenal team!
Kathy and her husband Steve have 2 sons and a daughter. They have one grandson Cody and another grandchild on the way. Grand parenthood is the best!
Terrie-Ann Maples - Dental Hygienist
Terrie-Ann loves dental hygiene, Dr. Bates and team, her daughter Sara, and helping people achieve their best oral health (not necessarily in that order). She received her AAS in Dental Hygiene from Pierce College in 1994, and joined our team in 1998. She appreciates each one of her patients and looks forward to serving your dental hygiene needs.
Terrie-Ann enjoys volunteer work having served with Medical Teams International Mobile Dental Van, and local church and community groups. She is a cycling enthusiast and a talented quilter.
Kathy Martin - Clinical Assistant
Kathy has been Dr. Bates Clinical Assistant for sixteen fabulous years. She is always learning and staying current on materials and technique so she can be her best for you. From start to finish, your comfort is important to her. She always strives to perform top quality services to our clients.
Kathy is a native to the area and the proud mother of her daughter Raquel. She looks forward to meeting you.
Cara Warner - Clinical Assistant
Cara rejoined the back office staff as Clinical Assistant in July 2010 after working as Accounts Manager for one and a half years. She is well qualified and highly skilled in this position which she previously held for 12 years. Since this was her first love in dentistry, she is delighted to return. Welcome "back" Cara! She is committed to serve you with both high quality and personal care.
Cara is the proud mother of three daughters and loves spending time with her family.
